Care & Use

STAINLESS STEEL WATER BOTTLES

Our G2V Stainless Steel bottles and lids have been designed and engineered to last for many years. But to ensure they maintain their superior performance, care must be taken to avoid excessive wear, stress, or damage. We have answers to many more questions on our FAQ page.

GENERAL

The bottle and lid combination you have purchased is meant for drinking (and possibly eating) from on a daily basis. And like a cup or mug, it should be treated in a similar fashion by a simple daily cleaning. Leaving water or beverages in the bottle for too long will alter the taste of the liquid and possibly leave stains inside the bottle. These bottles will not rust, so any discoloration is due to the liquid leaving deposits. The deposits can be avoided by simply rinsing the bottle out with soapy water after each day.

CLEANING - BY HAND

The best way to clean your bottle and lid is by hand with a soft brush and soapy water. If you use your bottle daily, simply rinsing the bottle out with warm soapy water and then letting air-dry is adequate. Avoid washing with scrubbing pads or Scotchbrite pads as they may scratch the metal or paint.

CLEANING - DISHWASHER

G2V Stainless Steel water bottles are dishwasher safe. For the lids, we recommend washing them by hand so all the nooks and crannies are scrubbed thoroughly. But for light washing, they can be placed in the dishwasher as long as they are throroughly dried since they have many areas that water can sit and leave deposits. For the Narrow Mouth bottles, we recommend hand washing with a narrow brush to make sure that the inside of the bottle gets thoroughly cleaned. Painted bottles can be placed in the dishwasher buy may encounter other objects such as cups or plates that may chip or scratch the paint.

TASTE AND STAINS

If the bottles and lids are cleaned on a regular daily basis, there should be absolutely no problems with staining or taste issues. But we all lead busy lives and occasionally your bottle may sit under your car seat for a few weeks at a time. To remove tough stains, smells, or even tastes from the bottle, a simple scrubbing using a bottle brush and baking soda with water or white vinegar with water will usually do to the trick.
